To explore the impact of high-performance data storage on medical image transmission, Dicom Systems and Pure Storage conducted a comprehensive testing program.
Our testing focused on the routing functionality of the Dicom Systems Unifier enterprise imaging platform, supported by Pure Storage hardware. We evaluated various workflow functions, including DICOM routing and tag morphing, to confirm whether transmission time and transfer speeds correlated with storage performance.
Our measurements included large, regular, and small DICOM studies, with a maximum throughput of 1,280 megabytes (MB). We also assessed I/O performance and latency to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between storage performance and imaging speed.
